Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Define quality requirements, inspection and verification processes, qualification activities, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in collaboration with project stakeholders. 
  • Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and technical specifications. 
  • Manage and continuously improve incoming quality control processes within the company. 
  • Perform supplier quality surveillance, audits, and assessment activities. 
  • Prepare, review, maintain, and update quality documents, plans, and procedures. 
  • Lead and monitor corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes. 
  • Oversee calibration and control programs for Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE). 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Project teams to define inspection, testing, and acceptance criteria. 
  • Prepare, coordinate, and monitor project documentation throughout the project lifecycle. 
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (Master's degree and/or Ph.D. is considered an asset). 
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, quality control engineering, or nuclear quality assurance is preferred. 
  • Knowledge and awareness of nuclear safety culture and quality management principles. 
  • Experience with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes, ASME Code requirements, welded fabrication, and quality control practices is preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of ASME NQA-1, CSA N299, CSA N285, ISO 9001, ISO 19443, and 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) techniques (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT), and Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) programs is preferred. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel to supplier and customer locations when required.
